 This kind of table stand used be known as a banqueting stand, its main purpose being for either amplifying or recording after dinner speeches. It can still be used for this purpose, of course, but we offer it here for any recording application where a floor stand is not practical or appropriate, and where the user requires more versatility of adjustment from a table based stand than our ATS1 offers. The ATS2 has an adjustable boom arm as well as and adjustable shaft. Once again, this stand is perfect for use with all the microphones we offer, and the clips provided with any of them will fit it.

The Mini Boom-Pole was developed by Rode due to a request from the BBC. The engineers there asked for a shorter version of Rode's standard Boompole (above) which would be lighter. In applications such as news gathering, there is no need for a long 3m mic pole. By removing sections the Mini is considerably lighter and thus easier to use over long periods.

The Reinhardt PG2 Pistol GripAs with everything, the are pistol grips and pistol grips. We've looked at them all and the PG2, made by a Danish company called Rienhardt, is the one we like the best because it is machined (not moulded) from a light weight shatter proof plastic, reducing the weight by up to 38% over other designs.
The PG2 is designed to fit virtually all microphones because it is supplied with 3 sizes of rubber grommets to fit microphones from 18mm diameter to 24.5mm diameter. The PG2 will therefore fit all the the mics we sell. The rubber grommets are easily changed and can even be combined to fit microphones with special shapes. These grommets also prevent the microphone from slipping out of the barrel when pointing vertically down and and moving rapidly.
Embedded in the base of the grip is a 3/8 whitworth thread for boom-pole mounting and the microphone cable sits neatly out of the way in a machined groove under the hand grip. The soft foam grip fits comfortably in the hand minimizing fatigue when held for long periods. It is made of high quality Kraton rubber with extra soft gel inserts and has a slip-free surface for a secure grip and ergonomic shape for a very comfortable hand position.
This robust pistol grip will last many years under the harsh TV and Film production environment. |
The W22 "Whisper" Windshield
When we researched enclosed microphone windshield systems, it was clear to us that Reinhardt offered the best designed wind-gags in the marketplace.
Their PG2 It may not be the best known, but their Whisper series is most definitely superior to other more widely available designs.
Available for pistol, boom and camera mounted microphones, the Reinhardt "Whisper" is hand made in Denmark by Danish craftsmen to exacting specifications, ensuring perfect performance and reliability.
It is beautifully finished with acoustically transparent silver gray synthetic fur and a soft leather trim.
The HW (Hi-Wind) versions we sell have proven to be effective with gusts of 10m/s (22MPH) reducing the wind noise by up to 18dB.
The "Whisper" is light, easy and quick to fit, and we offer several versions of the W22 (see listings below) for the various different microphones we sell, so you can be confident in acquiring undisturbed recordings with your investment in the majority of conditions. |

The Rode DeadCat Wind-Gag The aptly (if unfortunately) named RODE DeadCat provides adequate wind protection for the Rode NTG-1 & NTG-2 short shotgun mics. It is designed to be fitted like a sleeve over the foam windshield provided with your NTG1 or 2. For use in windy conditions, is claimed to be acoustically transparent to ensure the only thing you eliminate is the wind noise. The RODE SM4 is a shockmount suspension designed for the RODE NTG-1 & NTG-2 microphones. It may also be used with any microphone with similar dimensions. The microphone fits through and is gripped by the centre cross points of the four rubber suspension rings, and is thus isolated from any hard surfaces. It is therefore ideal when the microphone is used on a stand or boom (should not be used with Reinhardt PG2 Pistol Grip).  Solid State Sound Recorders and their associated kit (microphones, etc.) are a valuable investment which can all too easily be damaged beyond repair if dropped. It is no wonder, then, that many of our customers choose to store their equipment in one of our hard cases.
The case in our picture shows just one equipment storage solution (sorry, recorders & microphones are not included in our case prices!). The customisable 'pick and pluck' foam insert in all our cases (listed below) allows you to choose your own arrangement and add other items.
All our hard cases are made by Peli and they are completely unbreakable, watertight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof. In other words, they provide total protection for your equipment. They are made of Ultra High Impact structural copolymer that makes them extremely strong and durable. Their exclusive 6.4 mm neoprene o-ring and ABS latches seal perfectly and includes an automatic purge valve for quick equalization after changes in atmospheric pressure. Your equipment can fit into the high density foam of the case for total subjection and protection against impact, vibration or shock.
We offer several sizes of hard case below. Have a look at the dimensions of the recorder/s we sell (see under Specifications on each of our our product pages), and then look at the internal dimensions of each size of case we offer below. Often you will be able to fit what you need into a choice of more than one case depending on whether you store it sideways, upright or flat. There is bound to be one that is right for you!
