RODE NTG3 Premium Precision Broadcast-Grade Short Shotgun Directional Microphone | [Back to Top] |
Whilst Rode's NTG1 & 2 are designed and built to a budget, their NTG3 is their premium, flagship shotgun microphone. It is the result of years of development by Rode engineers, providing the professional broadcast and film industries with a truly uncompromising microphone.
Using a technology known as RF-bias, the Rode NTG3 is almost completely resistant to moisture, making it the only option when recording in any demanding environments where condensation is an issue. For example, a rainy English location shoot or when shooting in a humid jungle environment. When using most condenser mics in such conditions, sound recordists are regularly plagued by microphone noise (all sorts of spurious clicks and pops) and sometimes even microphone failure. So, if you need to be sure, the Rode NTG3 is your safest option.
In addition to its robust properties the NTG33 combines very low weight (163g), a durable anti-glare finish and incredibly low handling and self-noise (13dBA) to become their top-of the range shotgun microphone. And when not in use your NTG3 can be stored away in the included weather resistant aluminium storage cylinder, providing additional protection when travelling and storing the microphone. In short - if you want the best in performance and reliability, buy the NTG3.
Designed to withstand adverse environmental conditions 50% less self-noise than the majority of shotgun microphones True condenser (externally RF biased) Extremely low handling noise High level of immunity to radio frequency broadcast Superior broadcast sound quality Weather resistant aluminium storage cylinder included
