This high-performance short shotgun offers outstanding long-distance audio pickup due to narrow acceptance angle of line + gradient design. It also features smooth, natural-sounding on-axis audio quality and excellent off-axis rejection of sound arriving from the sides and rear of mic. Short Shotgun Condenser Microphone 
The ATR55 offers intelligible reproduction for close-, medium-, and long-distance pickup. Two range settings are provided: "Normal" for close- to medium-distance recording; "Tele" for long-distance pickup. In its "Tele" range setting, this unidirectional condenser is engineered to pick up dialogue and sound effects at a distance, while bypassing ambient noise such as traffic, air-handling systems, room reverberation and mechanically coupled vibrations. ATR55 is equipped with a permanently attached 0.9 m (3') cable terminated with a 3.5mm mini-jack plug.
