AUDIO-TECHNICA BP4025  •  AT8022
Large Diaphragm One-Point Stereo Condenser Microphones

Ideal for stereo field recording, broadcast interviews and general stereo recording, Audio-Technica’s versatile BP4025 and AT8022 stereo condensers are unusual because they have large diaphragms to deliver pristine sound quality and exceptionally low noise (many stereo one-point mics only have the smaller diaphragms which can be OK but are more of a compromise in terms of performance and overall audio transparency). The coincident capsule configuration in the BP4025 and AT8022 produces an X/Y stereo image in an innovative coincident capsule configuration (see cutaway photos). This allows for a smaller housing while producing a wide stereo image with real spatial impact and realism. (The BP4025 is shown on the right of our photograph and the AT8022 on the left.)
