Professional SD/USB Solid State Recorder for Installation
Denon's DN-500R & DN-700R recorders are
closely related designs (see our DN-700R page here). Whilst the DN-700R
can be used on a computer network, the DN-500R is a standalone SD/USB
recorder offering commercial studio quality with no compromise in core
functionality. Suited to a wide range of applications, the DN-500R is a
superior replacement to traditional recording devices in studio,
broadcast, corporate and educational environments, to name a few.
Housed in a compact 1U rack-mountable chassis, the DN-500R offers
recording to reliable SD card and USB storage media in both
broadcast-quality WAV and MP3 formats. The unit can be configured for
dual simultaneous recording to both USB and SD media, or relay/cascade
recording where longer recording times are desirable.
Designed for professional use, the DN-500R features versatile
connectivity including balanced XLR analogue audio and AES/EBU digital
I/O, as well as unbalanced analogue connections and SPDIF.
Ensuring total control is always possible, even when the unit is
installed in locations that are difficult to access, the DN-500R can be
controlled via RS-232C, Parallel GPIO and Denon’s optional RC-F400S Hot
Start serial remote controller (see left).
For direct control, the front panel is designed for maximum ease of use
with a bright OLED display and large function buttons offering fast,
simple front panel operation. And a USB Keyboard input allows easy file
The DN-500R also offers programmable timer operation for both recording
and playback functions.
This video deals with both the DN-500R and its big
brother, the network capable DN-700R, and the majority of the video
is taken up with the DN-700R. However, please note that the two models
share most of the same features and functions.
